2 out of 8 is a good ratio, you don't have to worry about it. That said, I'm not an 'authority' on the matter, all I can recommend you to do, is keep your own ideas but try to follow the same format than polls that get usually picked, that's the way I started and after a few polls getting picked, I realized I could build my own style of polls... the good thing is that we all make different polls and it creates an interesting diversity.

Humility is important because there's always and will always be someone better or more successful than us so we better get used to it and learn to accept the worth of our smallest accomplishments.

Problem with today's world is that it exposes us every day on other people's achievements, they can be friends, family, even stars (via Twitter or Instagram) and they always tend to diminish the perception toward our own achievements... not a good thing. It's good to want more... but if you don't value what you have, having more will change nothing.

That was my 'minute of philosophy' but I agree with everything you said, wholeheartedly.
