Why is there not a search function within the app watchlists

Hi Jim,

Using the IMDb app we offer a few filtering options to narrow down your Watchlist. As soon as you navigate to the Watchlist tab, you will see some prefiltered lists, based on specific genres, title type, and availability. You can also tap "See All" and use the icons in the top left to sort and filter the results.

Using your mobile browser or a desktop, you can use Advanced Title Search to perform searches based on your Watchlist titles:

Hello Steve, thanks for your reply, but not much help I'm afraid. Looking at my film collection by genre is of no help. If I want to check whether I have a film say whose title begins with the letter V, how does genre sorting help? I have to swipe my whole collection, starting always with the first film, and it takes ages to get to V, for example. I cannot understand why a simple search is not built into the app. After all, the search option at the top of the app window works, but sadly only for locating films in your database, not my Watchlist. Is there any intention to add this basic fearure to the app anytime soon?

Hi Jim,

I am sorry to hear the genre sorting suggestion is not of help to you. I would recommend using advanced search for now, as this has the most options for narrowing down your list or searching based on specific criteria.

Hi Steve, I've only just realsied that I can view my Watchlist on the imdb website... In a way, it sort of negates creating a Watchlist on the app, or maybe it's not possible to create a Watchless on the main imdb site? I will see whether I can add more of my films to the Watchlist on imdb.com, if I can then it makes the Watchlist on the app defunct, no?
