Netflix filter for watchlist

Could you add a Netflix filter for the watchlists? There’s one for amazon prime but a Netflix one would be really helpful.

Isabel: The difference is that Amazon.com owns IMDb, so there is a financial motivation for wanting to offer a filter for Amazon services but not Netflix services.

I’m not sure that’s the difference. There are many streaming filters that IMDb has provided that are non-Amazon owned.

Why doesn’t IMDb show what channel or streaming service a series is playing on?

Within the details section of individual episodes there is a place for the Release Date. My suggestion is to add another field in details that says what platform it originally aired on.

Example 1: Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 Episode 1 "The Vulcan Hello" has a Release Date: 24 September 2017 (USA) in the details section. Add a field below saying it was originally released on CBS All Access.

Example 2: Scrubs Season 1 Episode 1 "My First Day" would say originally released on NBC while Season 8 Episode 1 "My Jerks" would say originally released on ABC.

This could also be used to find all shows that are currently running or did run on Netflix or Amazon or Hulu....

Especially, now a days with so many places to see shows or movies, it would be amazing if the original place to view was listed, maybe under Details, since there is an Original Air Date/Release date feature.
I see commercials all the time for new shows or people tell me to watch something, but it can be hard to find the platform or channel it's going to be on. For example the show Psych was originally aired on USA network, and I've seen things for a new movie from the show (Psych 2: Lassie Come Home) coming out on Peacock. It would just be so great to have that information located on the site!

Good idea. I'd take it a step farther. For any series currently being aired, whether new or in syndication, show the network.cable channel or streaming service that's running it. That would be a big help any time we try to find one after reading or hearing something motivating about it.

I was thinking that too, but didn’t want to be too greedy!

Amazon owns IMDb and so Amazon Prime links are seen when an entry is available there.  Amazon doesn't own the other channels and streaming sites and so availability of IMDb titles on those platforms aren't advertised.

This information, if the IMDb has it, would be found in the Distributor section. I don't think it's available on the app but can be seen on the main site.

Company credits for Psych:

Lots of streaming filters on IMDb now—some Amazon owned and some not. Still no Netflix.

At this point in time, I wonder why IMDb is holding out?  Or could it be Netflix who is holding out... withholding their API?

I think it would be a win for everyone if the two could work together.
