Viewing full site

Is anybody else not seeing the option to view the full site for the cast and crew pages on Android?

I noticed the link was missing in the mobile site (not just on Android).

I'm using an iPhone.

@Edward Yes, no worries.

Device Model = Galaxy S20+ 5G

OS version number = Android 11

Screenshot attached below, this is an example. It is Cate Blanchett's imdb page. URL is https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0000949/

Thank you.

Why can't I go to full site anymore? That option just seemed to vanish off the website. I like to see full cast and crew in desktop version on my phone

Hi @ycdbsouya -

Can you clarify what specific section is missing?  On the IMDb App we do display a few related sections:

"Keep exploring IMDb"

"More to Explore"

Are you asking about how to view episode credits for a person on the IMDb App?

When accessing imdb through mobile using an internet browser, it opens the mobile version of the website, but until this past week you can access the full version of imdb through a link at the bottom of the page, but now that link is gone,   has it been moved somewhere else?  I try accessing the full version but it keeps opening the mobile version.  Anyone have suggestions?

@Yhwhtlc

Because I have a page bookmarked (actually saved to my phone's desktop), I can tell you the parameter

mode=desktop

still works, but indeed I don't see the link that would have generated that, and searching the page for "full" or "site' doesn't find it either.

Example:

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0000026/?mode=desktop

The "m." converts to "www.", and the "mode=..." gets carried forward when you tap a link (to a Name page or a List), until you get to a Title page, when it sometimes reverts to pure mobile mode, sometimes not.

yes I have tried on several browser, by inputting imdb.com and it converts it to a mobile version of the website... that was normal in the past it never went to the full webpage for me I always had to use the link at the bottom of the mobile version to get into it.   thanks you for your response.

Hi @Yhwhtlc -

Can you confirm if this issue is still occurring?

@Michelle

I tried on my desktop, using m.imdb.com instead of www.imdb.com, and neither the title nor the name pages have the option to "View Full Site" as they formerly did.

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0056923/?ref_=m_nm_knf_i1

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0000026/

Same thing on Android device, using Chrome browser.

@bderoes  Just to be clear on the title page aspect of all this, the main title pages no longer have a “View Full Site” link because the mobile view is already the full site; all of the same content is there, just optimised for mobile.  It’s the same for the home, photos, and any other pages on the new technology which is responsive to the screen size of the device.  Only pages on the old technology need it and eventually no IMDb pages will need this link when the entire site is fully responsive.

@Col_Needham

Understood.

But as I mentioned above, the Title page sometimes drops the "mode=desktop" on the URL, so the user has to keep adding it (by editing the url, or by clicking the link we used to have) when we reach one of the many pages that has not yet been converted.

That parameter should be kept even when the page being displayed is the same in mobile and desktop modes, for future clicks.

@Col_Needham   Actually, I would prefer the old way.  On mobile I would put in imdb.com.... it would not convert it to m.imdb.com but offer the option to select it...... now I have no choice it automatically takes me to the mobile version and it is clearly NOT the same as the I guess you call desktop version because it is missing the person of interest-- their Spousal/children/parent information--- who they married-- initial/end date of marriage... and how many children were from that marriage.. as well as that persons parents name.    Where did you put that information in the mobile version?

such as this from James Masons page...

Family (3)

Spouse    Clarissa Kaye-Mason (13 August 1971 - 27 July 1984)  (his death)

Pamela Mason (22 February 1941 - 31 August 1964)  (divorced)  ( 2 children)

Children   Morgan Mason

                 Portland Mason

Parents     John Mason

                 Mabel Mason

Trade Mark (2)

Sophisticated upper-class demeanor

Deep mellifluous voice.

@Yhwhtlc  Please see above — the missing “View Full Site” on name pages is a bug which we are investigating.  As we wrote above:

Just to be clear on the title page aspect of all this, the main title pages no longer have a “View Full Site” link because the mobile view is already the full site; all of the same content is there, just optimised for mobile.

Hope this helps.

Imdb site and apps are so buggy, in latest Imdb app you cannot load content if you have any adblocker, because they have filled everything with ads.

And Btw mobile site is available only if u are not logged in. After you login you will see only web version not mobile. 🙁😐 seriously ??

Don't know when they will fix these !!
