Remove ads from the app!
Can we have an ad-free option please? I'd happily pay to get rid of the irrelevant junk sliding onto the edge of my screen.

For those who choose not to take this option, you still have the ad revenue.
There are hundreds of thousands of other apps that use this business model - with the added benefit of increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
How did imdb arrive at the conclusion that this business model will not work for them? Is this view based on evidence, or just "too hard - don't bother"??
Remember that a customer who experiences frustration every time they use your product will (sooner or later) ALWAYS take their business elsewhere. How long are you prepared to wait? Will a competitor have to arrive and take half your customer base before you change?

To block ads (using Weblock) in the imdb app you'll need to add two custom blacklist addresses:
http://*_ad_size.*
and
http://*/mobile-ads/*

Seriously, I have money. I want to give you money. Let me pay you to stop these stupid, intrusive, ads.
Really, it's getting ridiculous now. Why are ignoring another Revenue stream? Clearly there are MANY of us that would pay to stop seeing that crap and haVing it ruin the app experience.
I'm most annoyed by that fact that this had been an issue customers have complained about since day one and had never been addressed.
