Ransome ware

Question

I opened the IMDB site this morning and was immediately greeted with an adware hostage page. Why? I and deeply disappointed by this and extremely irritated that IMDB would stoop to this level. I would like some one to explain to me why.

Larry: It may be that some malware has gotten onto your computer from another site. I doubt that this problem was caused by IMDb itself.

However, if other people indicate that they are having the same experience, then I could be wrong. We'll see if anyone else raises the same problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have specific advice as to how to get rid of the ransomware. (There is anti-malware software out there, but I don't know which one would be best for you.)
