Granite Flats Theme Song

I am currently watching Granite Flats on BYUTV and the theme song sounds like Skeeter Davis but is not End of the World as listed on the soundtrack. Does anyone know what the actual song is and who is singing it? I have search the lines "How long can we hold today. I don't ever wanna to say goodnight my love" and came up with nothing.

Same here. I wanted to hear the whole song because it was so hauntingly beautiful. But I too typed the lyrics on Google search and could only find references for Skeeter Davis's song The end of the world. I love that song too, but clearly, it's not the same song. I didn't find anything in the credits either.

@Nostalgia1 I like challenges and love to know other's have the same question. I wonder if the series when first played used the song by Skeeter Davis and then for some reason changed the song and never updated credits. It still would not explain why the current song is not out there somewhere on the vast worldwide web. It could be a singer was hired to sing the new theme song and was told to sound like Skeeter Davis. The question remains. What is the song? Thank you for your comment and help with our quest for the answer.

I have checked the production company related to the show Granite Flats. The website is no longer active. I have e-mailed the contact for the show at BYU TV and they no longer work at BYU TV. I will keep researching and keep you all informed.

@lance_britt Clearly they did use "The End of the World" as a theme song at some point (see https://vimeo.com/60688832 starting at 3:53), but if they changed it later, I have not been able to find an episode online that uses a different theme.

If you find such an episode, I recommend using an app such as Soundhound or Shazam to identify what the song is and who sang it.

@gromit82 Look up Granite Flats on BYUTV and you can watch any episode and they all have the different theme song. I have copied the song and uploaded sample to every song finder website I know of. Please let me know if you have any luck.

Lance: You are correct that they have a different song used as the theme in the episodes available on BYUTV.org. As you indicated, the only lyrics to the theme song in the episode I saw there are:

How long till the sun sets

How long can we hold today

I don't ever wanna say

Goodnight my love

I tried with both Soundhound and Shazam, but neither of them could recognize it. Hopefully someone else knows, because I don't have any other ideas.

@gromit82  It  is done to sound like Skeeter Davis or it is just another song not well know by her. I am glad you were able to verify what we have been talking about. Someone will eventually know the answer I hope.  As I stated in an earlier comment the person at BYU TV is no longer at the University and the production companies website is dead.

@lance_britt You may as well look for some kind of music-based message board and provide people the link to the episodes on BYUTV.org, and see if anyone recognizes the singer's voice. It's possible that the song might have been written for the TV show and not exist elsewhere.
