Yet another date of death submission (with evidence) rejected for no reason

I think you have a systematic problem: this is the third date of birth/death that I have submitted which has been rejected "Your contribution has been declined. We did not capture a specific reason during processing."

Michelle has rectified the first two that I have raised tickets about, but I think someone needs to investigate why they are being rejected, so they can do something to prevent it happening in the future.

Today's example is

220606-164905-150000

  • Nicholas, David (IV)
    • Date of Death - Add
      • 4 June 2022
https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/06/sir-david-nicholas-obituary "David Nicholas, television news editor, born 25 January 1930; died 4 June 2022"

I've confirmed that his obituary is still visible and is not behind a firewall.

I get you completely @martin_695862,

This is a serious issue needs dealing with as soon as possible. An editor, or some editors randomly decline no matter what the evidence or purpose explained in the box, leaving us contributors shocked in the end for the reason and with no enthusiam to continue to improve IMDB with these important additions.

I also asked of @Michelle to warn the person or people responsible for these to prevent them from further happening.

Hi martin_695862 -

I can confirm that this death date was declined in error and I have now approved it.

Regarding the ongoing declined statuses, I have reached out to the appropriate team to address this issue and help prevent further processing errors.

Cheers!

@Michelle Many thanks. I've just seen two more that have been declined:

  • 220607-201229-647000 Wade, John (XVII)
  • 220607-203919-677000 Bates, John (III)

Good luck in getting the problem resolved, whether it is a system error or human error.

I noticed that it appeared I'd re-submitted the David Nicholas death a couple of hours ago, until I looked in updates/history and saw that it was "submitted on my behalf". Thought I was going mad there because I knew I hadn't re-submitted it myself ;-)
