What if the credit can't be fixed, but it's still wrong? How do I contact someone?

A show I write about (not for) has a character name spelled wrong. We used to be able to submit changes and they would be approved or not. There is no longer a way to do that. Not it just remains wrong. Is there recourse or someone to contact? I have a reference page, etc., but the edits won't go through. The edit in contention is Max Carver as Aiden on Teen Wolf. It is incorrectly spelled as Aidan. That is wrong. http://www.mtv.com/celebrity/charlie-...

Anything that is wrong can be fixed somehow.

I just tried it and it seems to allow me to change the character name.  What indication are you getting that there is no longer a way to do it?

I go to the episode, check "cast" as the category to change and select to make a correction.  I get the cast list and find the Aiden character and check off to correct it.  I get the same list but the character name is open to edit and provide an  explanation in which I can explain why there is a need for change and give the link you gave which shows the correct spelling.

Is that what you're doing?  At what point do you get an indication it won't go through?

When I try to make the correction it says what I'm typing below. Which is all well and good if the answer were somewhere hidden in 20 available attributes. I don't even know what that means. The spelling is wrong. Their process of correction has a glitch.
"This credit has been rejected. You need to correct this credit before it will be accepted.
'Aiden' is not one of the 20 existing attributes we have in this section.
Sorry, no suggestions available."

An "attribute" would be, for example, uncredited.  The credit would then show,

Max Carver as Aiden (uncredited)
to indicate that the credit did not appear on screen. (uncredited) is an approved attribute.

So, that's not what you need to do.  You actually need to change the character name spelling.  So, when you get the cast list, editable, as I described, you'll actually type in the name change under the character heading.  You'll see "Aiden" and you'll just change the "e" to and "a."

Where are you getting the cast list as editable? I click on cast and I get a bunch of characters that aren't on the show as regulars. Oh - you want me to add him as one of the 20, then I'll be able to change it. Gotcha.

You don't need to add him.  He's listed.  But, to get there, go to the page for the episode.

Then, as I said above:

check "cast" as the category to change and select to make a correction.
I get the cast list and find the Aiden character and check off to
correct it.  I get the same list but the character name is open to edit

The cast list won't be editable, just the one (Aiden) you've selected.

No, you were right the first time. There is no way to edit Aidan to Aiden successfully at the moment. Every time I try, I get the "there is no attribute available" thing. Even to correct the spelling. When you actually "submit" is when you get the error. Now that I've submitted the attribute, I think it will be easy to change.

What attribute did you add?

Max Carver as Aiden and all of his episodes. It will take a couple days to process as usual.

You added that in the attribute field?  I don't understand.  I don't get the error message you're getting so I'll just complete the submissions.

Then you must be in a different spot than where I was. I was under cast in a) the main show b) the episodes and I also tried under Max's actor page and various other pages. In all instances, it kicked me out as the Aiden being an unavailable option under the cast page. Is there a character page you're finding somewhere?

As I said,

I go to the episode, check "cast" as the category to change and select
to make a correction.  I get the cast list and find the Aiden character
and check off to correct it.  I get the same list but the character name
is open to edit and provide an  explanation in which I can explain why
there is a need for change and give the link you gave which shows the
correct spelling.
I didn't go to any character page.  I went to the episode pages in which the character is credited.

At the episode page, click "edit page." You get an option for cast, check to correct it.  The cast list comes up, not editable.  Choose, next to the actor's name, to change "keep" to "correct" and then on the next page you can edit the actor name, character name or attribute.

You should not be doing anything to "attributes."  An attribute would be, for example, if the actor was not credited on screen or was credited differently than his name appears on his page, like if Joe Smith was credited as Joseph A. Smith.  If you did add an attribute, it should either not be accepted or needs to be corrected once it's added because you should have simply changed the "a" to and "e" in the character field.

I submitted requests to change them.  We'll watch for it and see what happens.

Yes, that's what I did. But when I did that, it said I couldn't so it because it didn't appear in the attribute page. WHY it was making the association between a main character and an attribute I have no idea. I merely changed the character name, exactly as you did, but it was rejected with the text I initially posted above. Very strange, as I've been making changes for the last decade and belong to pro and all that jazz. Oh well.
