Uploaded a picture; display is bad

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312980/

I just submitted the VHS cover for this film.  It looks like I should have broken it into multiple images because the display image looks stupid.  Is there anything I can do now to improve it?  It's a hard plastic square clamshell case, so I just pulled put the insert and scanned it because it's got video store stickers on the outer sleeve.  Now the spine is the center of the main image.

I love that you scanned the entire box image like that - especially with older films, I think that's a great addition to the photos. But in terms of the thumbnail centering, you're probably better off submitting another image where everything but the front of the cover is cropped out, and specifically uploading it as the Poster image.

There are instructions on this page, for submitting an image as the Poster image, and changing an existing image to the Poster image.

VHS/Laserdisc/DVD/Blu-ray covers are not ”posters”, so they should be added as ”Product/Box Art” instead. So it’s best not to submit a VHS image as a ”poster”. Poster always takes priority when it comes to primary image.

Also, scanning the whole VHS/DVD/etc cover (with spine and back cover included) doesn’t really look good. If people still want to do that, they probably should add two different photos: front cover, and back cover (I would personally leave out the back cover altogether).

More info:

While over time we plan to expand the types of title images we allow, please add:

  • Poster - An official poster created by the studio used to promote or advertise the title.
  • Still Frame - A single static image ("frame") taken from the actual film or show.
  • Behind the Scene - A photo taken during filming, containing details such as camera location etc.
  • Publicity - A photo taken to publicize a person or production.
  • Event- A photo taken during an activity, party, or event associated with the title.
  • Product/Box Art - Official product artwork such as DVD or Blu-ray covers.
  • Production Art - Additional official artwork such as original storyboards or concept art.

I made a crop that was just the front cover, but it's not allowing me to make it the primary image.  Both were submitted as product/box art.

There is no "make primary" option even though the first was also submitted as box art.
