Update Problems
Since maybe a week now, when doing updates and clicking on the check button, I am sometimes instead taken to an error page stating:
We're sorry!
An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assured, we're already working on the problem and expect to resolve it shortly.
And of course upon going back, everything I did has been erased and I have to start the update over from scratch. This doesn't happen every time, but it does happen often and it never did before. What is going on? Will this be fixed?

Hi All,
Apologies again for this frustrating issue. We want to test an update which is expected to improve this and help prevent your work from getting lost if and when such an issue occurs. This will help provide our engineering team with more insight to the error, allowing them to tackle this issue at the core.
We want to get your feedback on this improvement and thus will need your user account id (e.g. ur********) to opt you in. You can find your user account id by visiting https://www.imdb.com/profile which will redirect you to your activity page with the user account id in the URL. If you're interested in being part of this beta, please share the same with us.

This is probably the same problem as https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/issue/61bc2952e4279c627b15b3cf and it is this error where I use my reload the page approach.
I have not seen the earlier problem of a page with just the headers and footers since this error started happening.

Hi All -
I was able to replicate the contribution error and have filed a ticket for the appropriate technical team to investigate. As soon as I have any updates on the status I will relay that information here.
Cheers!

As the 50th highest IMDb contributor of all time, and with an unbroken 19 year run as a Top Contributor, I would like to continue updating IMDb, but they do not make life easy for us.
These days, when you try to do a large contribution, like completing a crew for a production, you usually spend ages inputting all the name, then click through and receive simply a screen saying:
"
We're sorry!
An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assured, we're already working on the problem and expect to resolve it shortly.
Désolés!
Une erreur s'est produite lorsque nous avons tenté de traiter votre requête. Soyez assuré que nous travaillons déjà à la résolution du problème que nous pensons trouver très rapidement."
You then have to put the names all back in again a few at a time, and keep constantly submitting over and over again, and also saving in between in case you are again faced with that same screen. Although the choosing names as you go along feature is good, the disadvantage of it is that the box is completely cleared again on the next page, leaving just the job titles. If you do not choose a name until you get to the next page, your original inputted version will still be there, but it is an even bigger workload for the site loading the next page, as it has to also put all the name choices up for you as well.
So can't really win, whether you choose names as you go along or not.
Will all this ever be sorted? As it is enough work submitting a crew once, without having to do it again and again until the site decides to accept it.
Anyway Happy New Year.

Hi,
The last couple of days, trying to add thanks credits to movies, I get the screen "We're Sorry! An error occurred when we treid to process your request. Rest Assured, we're already working on the problem and expect to resolve it shortly."
This happens after I've already done the input of the names & occupation.
Were you already aware of this problem?
Best regards,

It hinders the submissions of additions, corrections and deletions, and can also result in duplicate submissions. Very irritating!

It is very sad and very disappointing that this issue is STILL on going, some three months after first reported, and agents are no longer even answering or commenting when the issue is submitted again. The most I can submit at any one time is 20 items and then ONLY if you "recheck these updates" to get a green acknowledgement for every five or six items entered.

I recently noticed that Peter Rotter has frequent credits that are listed with and without the uncredited attribute. I tried just deleting one and you get this infamous page. Reloading the page (which works when I get this page editing TV episodes) does not work. I have no idea why it can't process a single credit and ignore the other 1100+ credits he has. There is no way around this except to edit individual episodes which is significantly more work. 177 episodes alone for The Walking Dead.

When you're contributing data, this is a slap in the face or a big "F--- you!"
I'm trying to contribute credits for the supplements on Criterion's My Brilliant Career (which are listed but completely bare-bones), which is already overdue at the library, which closes in 40 minutes, so whoever contributes this data won't be me.
Nice way to disrespect people's time and effort.

Hi all,
Thank you for your continued patience.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and understand how frustrating this experience must be. Our engineering team has been working to identify and resolve the issue at-hand.
We are working on an update to improve this which will prevent your work from getting lost if and when such an issue occurs. This will help provide our engineering team with more insight to the error, allowing them to tackle this issue at the core. We will be announcing the beta for this experience soon and it'll be great to have you be part of this.

This usually appears when one is about to complete the additions, deletions and corrections from a title's on-screen credits. It sends shudders through me with the possibility that a day's, two days', three days' work could be lost, or hindered from being submitted. It also appears when trying to reopen a saved page.
How can this be avoided? It is very frustrating.

When preparing the list of additions or corrections to cast/crew, the Update form has two buttons "Check these updates" and "Save for later".
Until very recently (yesterday?) the "Save" button has performed an implied "Check" operation before saving the data. This means that when you reload the saved, partly-completed form by clicking on the link in "Your update has been saved. Should you wish to return and actually send the data to IMDb for processing, you may retrieve it at a later date using the reference number 220424-230658-376200" any changes will have green (OK), yellow (ambiguous - eg add a Roman numeral) or red (show-stopper error) for each one.
Today when I did this, the saved form did not have the colours (implying no checking had taken place) and some people's names had been translated to the "nm123245" number. If I subsequently did a "Check", the checks were carried out as normal but if I then did a "Save" and restored the saved page, the fields were once again uncoloured.
I presume this is a bug rather than a deliberate change to the functionality.
