Trouble editing a page

I'm trying to update the information for Goblins Animated

The series is in development. No episodes have aired yet. The page was created in 2015 when the project was first announced. In 2019, the series creator came out as transgender and changed her name from Tarol Hunt to Ellipsis Hana Stephens. She very much wants reference to her old name removed, but the page lists it as "credited as." This is incorrect since, again, no credits have aired and the series official website credits her as Ellipsis Stephens.

Since there are no episodes yet, only the series page exists. She is the writer, producer, and character designer for the full series. So the edit should be made at the series level. When I go to do that, I get a red warning that the automated system will not accept the edit unless there's a date range specified. That seems wrong, but there's no way to submit unless I do.

So, fine. I put in (2015-) as the date range, since she's been working on the project that whole time and will continue to do so. But then I can't submit the edit without acknowledging that the date range shouldn't be there. I agree. I put in the notes that staff should remove the date range but that I was unable to submit the edit without it.

The edit was denied because they were unable to verify, despite the information I'd provided. Fine. I provided more information. Then it was denied because it was improperly formatted. But there's literally no way I can format it correctly without the system automatically denying it before staff can even review.

The information on the page is factually incorrect, and it's harmful and upsetting to Ellipsis who is traumatized by her old name. I've tried fixing and resubmitting the edit several times now, but it's always rejected no matter how much information I provide and no matter how I format it.

All I'm trying to do is change "Ellipsis Hana Stephens (as Tarol Hunt)" to "Ellipsis Hana Stephens" in four credits on that one page. How do I do it?

No edit will change it.

You must make a request to IMDb directly.

It will only be reflected on their name page.

IMDb permits the removal of birth names from a person's biographical details if the birth name is not broadly publicly known (i.e. it's not already widely recognized and available elsewhere through sources such as major reference sites or publications) and if the person no longer voluntarily uses it (i.e. only uses their birth name when compelled to do so by government/legal requirements, but not in other aspects of their daily or professional life).

If you no longer voluntarily use the birth name listed in connection with your IMDb name page in a public or private capacity and would like IMDb to remove your birth name from your IMDb biography page, please contact IMDb’s Customer Support for details on how to provide documentation to verify your identity and other information in support of your request.

Only requests for removal of birth names listed in biographical data will be reviewed. For birth name removal requests pertaining to titles in which a person was credited on-screen as their birth name, their credited name will remain listed in the credits section of applicable IMDb name and title pages in parentheses. This is in order to continue providing IMDb’s hundreds of millions of customers worldwide with comprehensive information about film and TV credits, thereby preserving the factual historical record by accurately reflecting what is listed on-screen.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Her IMDB bio page is correct, showing only her current name, not her birth name. That's been taken care of. The issue is that the series page incorrectly lists her as being credited under her old name. She was never credited on screen by that name.

The only proof for a correction IMDb will accept is a visual on screen credit screengrab as evidence.

I've "Been there....Done that" with them many times. They like visuals.

If you wish, a way to submit it would be to actually add a blank episode to the listing. You don't have to include a release date or an episode title, just an episode number (1.1). Once the episode is listed, you can correct the credits again, select the episode in the form and remove the attributes.

Interesting. But would that fix the credit on the series page?

It would move the credits to the episode page. On the series page, it would be displayed with a (1 episode) tag.
