The movie "The Cabin In The Woods" was first released on 9 March 2012, Yet it stands on IMDb movie page that its a movie from 2011! Why?

Hmmm, good point:

Looking over the drawn-out release history, it seems it is a legacy of one of the various release dates:

It should be something that was fixed automatically, but, hopefully, staff can give it a kick and get it sorted.

But still: First shown in public March 9 2012!

Indeed. I am agreeing with you - it needs fixing.

I have submitted a production status change with a note about this, and that might help sort this out (it shouldn't need it, I believe, but...)

Indeed, this appears to be wrong -- the film wasn't screened until 2012.

We'll fix this asap.

Thanks

Actually, further research shows that the film had its first screening at the the Austin 'Butt-Numb-A-Thon' festival in December 2011. So, the 2011 year was correct after all..

GC's last response deserves a star simply because of what he typed ... [giggle]

Or more if he typed it straight-faced! lol

New bucket-list item for me...attend the "butt-numb-a-thon!"

Of course, all this could have been sorted out easily, if the person who added 2011 also included the festival it appeared at. I assume that addition is in the pipeline, along with changing the date back.

I also feel foolish, as I've done a numb-butt-a-thon, but that clearly doesn't count.
