Let me give you more information. I am the E. D of Arlington International Film Festival and a lot of filmmakers the submit their film are asking if the festival is recognize by IMDb.
Tom Cruise is not listed on IMDb as a writer on Days of Thunder because IMDb "recognize" him...he is listed because he was listed on the screen as a writer of said film, which IMDb then documented.
April, I sense that you would love someone just to do this for you and let you know when it is done.....so I have followed the procedure to submit the Arlington International Film Festival for listing on IMDb.
This was on contact # 12131615.
Please be aware of the large backlog in this manual system - I do not offer excuses for this, but just to say it is the reality and patient acceptance of the situation will be better than powerless frustration!
When it is approved and goes live you will find it listed here.

Do you mean recognized as in "be listed on IMDb and have my work on a page"?
If so then it is simple - have an onscreen credit for work you did on a project that is eligible for inclusion on IMDb.
If I misunderstand the general question then please let me know.
