It looks like same kind of issue this guy was having with normally-impossible characters in his name page: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/registered-name-issue/61ad41c997253660be7b1011

I asked how was it possible to use these characters, user himself had no idea and @Taylor ignored the question, ignored twice actually.

Something is happening with their character set support I guess. I noticed some characters that was possible to use in Alternate Titles started to be impossible recently as well, like Korean for example.

Hi clematt1000 -

We experienced a recent technical issue contributing non-English characters which has since been resolved. I encourage you to try submitting the name again now and it should allow the name, otherwise, if you are still experiencing any issues submitting this name to the cast let us know.

Cheers!

@Michelle There is still some problem in Alternate Titles section, I'm not sure if it's an intended change or a part of this bug.

For example, you see Korean title text here with Hangul alphabet? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15685576/releaseinfo

It was possible to contribute that a little while ago, now it's impossible to add such a text and it's also impossible to edit it. This error happens: "This title contains an invalid character sequence"

Same thing applies to some other alphabets as well, for example, Arabic. Tried to change attribute on an Arabic title, but couldn't even change the attribute because it said "This title contains an invalid character sequence"

Hi @mbmb -

We currently don't support the contribution of Arabic and Korean characters within the "Alternate Titles" section, so this isn't an existing bug, but rather a known contribution form limitation.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.

@Michelle Thanks, yes you're right I must have confused, probably fixed something via contact desk previously, remembered wrong.

I think it would be useful to be able to at least correct attributes with contribution form. I sometimes see them with bad attributes and want to correct it right away, but form prevents.
