Solved

poster uploads

I uploaded a poster image to this profile and it looks like the mobile version now has a high resolution copy of the image, whereas the web version is displaying a very low reso version of the image. Is there a way to fix this? It should be consistent right?

*bump*bump*bump*

This is the entry I'm working on:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18352528

In the interleaving time I have checked a poster I uploaded a year ago for a separate project; that one appears to have uploaded and is displaying a hidef version of the poster.

I have also uploaded two more poster alternatives to my current project and they are also displaying as low definition on the web version / high definition on the mobile version.

Has imdb changed its upload restrictions since I last did this a year ago? Can I get hidef image uploads on the web version as well as the mobile version????

Is the only way of getting hidef images to go imdbpro? I'm wearing of this option, because all the changes I make during the pro subscription will get rolled back whenever I stop paying for pro..

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Hi robmacb -

All images are converted to JPEG before they're published and w resize photos to fit our image qualifications.

 If you are finding that the images you upload are not displaying well on the site, you should check your image files to ensure that they are at least 300 pixels wide. When possible, we recommend uploading images larger than 300 pixels wide to enhance the quality of the images displayed on our site.

Concerning your last question, can you clarify further?

@Michelle

Hi Michelle, thanks for responding!

So the uploads I've made were all 2480x3508 pixels or closer to A4 international paper size. These uploads display at a high quality on the mobile portal for IMDB, but the desktop pc version is displaying much lower quality versions of these images & it just seems really inconsistent to me. I'd love to know what the ideal dimensions should be for an image to upload and guarantee the detail won't get crushed in the imdb compression process.

As to my last query, I suppose what I'm really trying to ask is: If I populate this entry with details after the fact of purchasing an imdbpro account and later down the road I decide to roll back to the free version of imdb, will all the details I've populated during the pro subscription be taken down? I understand headshots & trailers disappear when the account is no longer paying for them to be there.
