Murdoch Mysteries Episode 15.12

For almost two weeks, I've been trying to add the director for this episode, called, "There's Something About Mary".  The writer was listed but not the director,  Why?  The episode that aired a week later has both the writer and director.  I find this very strange.

I know that Dawn Solokolit doesn't have any directing credits listed under her name, but that's way it goes with Murdoch Mysteries and the former show, Frankie Drake Mysteries.  They will use a person for either writer or director and then down the line, use for the other.

I have even ticked off the box that says, "this is a first credit for this person in this catergory" and still she's not added.

Please spell it properly.   Why is it so hard to understand that CBC made a mistake and misspelled her name?  I know what it says on screen.  I watched it on CBC, but when I looked her up, I couldn't find her with the CBC spelling.

It's Sorokolit, not Soroklit

Hi robin_powell_bdes4mp4ht2jw -

To clarify, as mbmb mentioned above, we display credits with the exact name that is reflected within the on-screen credits of the show.  Since there was a misspelling of Dawn Marie Sorokolit's surname on the episode, we have listed the credit under her correct IMDb page and applied the on-screen credited name as an attribute: "as Dawn Soroklit-Burke", which is correct as per our credit listing policy.

I hope this helps clarify!

Michelle, no it does not "clarify", because it's still not corrected.  You and the other poster don't want to acknowledge that CBC made a mistake.  I have someone else who backs me up.  I've also contacted CBC with the hopes they'll get back to me.

Greg David, who has contact with producers of Murdoch Mysteries, has his own website and Facebook page.  Every week  he posts on Thursdays, the info for the following Monday episode.  Unfortunately, he didn't do it that week.  Here's our short conversation, in the comments of his weekly post.

I wish you had the episode two weeks ago. I'm having an argument over the director's last name. CBC made a typo and spelled her name as Dawn Dawn Soroklit-Burke instead of Dawn SorokOlit-Burke

Hi @robin_powell_bdes4mp4ht2jw -

I appreciate your concern to maintain the correct name spelling of the individual, however, as per IMDb policy, we display the credit under the exact name that is credited on-screen, regardless if there is an spelling error.

When an individual is listed under their correct name on the site but is credited under a misspelled name, we will list the exact on-screen spelling within a name attribute, which is how the credit is currently displayed on Dawn Marie Sorokolits' IMDb page.

As the credit listed on IMDb correctly reflects what is credited on-screen, the credit data is formatted properly and cannot be changed.

@Michelle I'm going to contact Shaftesbury Films since that's what CBC suggested.  They have no control over what's written on the screen.
