Missing Trailers for Movies

Some movies, mostly upcoming independent ones, don't have a trailer. You would think that IMDB would be able to get the trailer if one is out there. You can go to YouTube, but I've also seen trailers on other movie sites that IMDB doesn't have yet. Some people say that YouTube posts unauthorized content, that's why they have it. But like I said it's not just YouTube. IMDB is a big, popular, respectable, mainstream site. If a trailer exists for a movie, they should have no problem obtaining it, right? Studios, and Producer's want their trailer out there where people can see it. As long as it's not leaked, and it's an official trailer, then I don't see the problem. Am I missing something?

IMDB does not actively gather content to help advertise films. It is up to a film maker to add trailers and posters to IMDB if they want them there.

IMDB's primary purpose is to act as a database and lists credits and information about films.

Even the poster for a film must be added using withoutabox http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?wabfpktrailer

If a film maker does not want to promote their film on IMDB, IMDB will not do it for them.
