Is it possible to change 'Alternate Name'? (Dealing with this for over 1 year)
My name is Anthony Jon and I would like to have an 'Alternate Name' removed from my IMDb profile. For the past year, I have tried effortlessly to have the name 'Anthony DiBartolomeo' removed from my profile, as I have never been credited on screen by this name. I have furnished screen captures of my credits that show my name as 'Anthony Jon'. Today, I attempted to correct/remove the name 'Anthony DiBartolomeo', and I received the following message:
"This section is closed.
If you want to add an alternative, searchable name to show variations in the way a person is credited (for example, if the primary name is 'John Smith' but they are sometimes credited as 'Johnny Smith'), go back and edit the appropriate filmography credit, then add (as Johnny Smith) to the attribute field.
To edit existing alternative names, follow the same process and check for 'as' attributes on the existing credits - please note that these attributes should reflect how a person is credited on screen. If you want to add an alternative name that is not connected to a filmography credit, please go back and add a Birth Name (for birth names only, not stage or professional names) or a Nickname (for everything else)."
With that said, I have exhausted all of the aforementioned efforts to accomplish this task. As it stands, none of my IMDb credits have the qualifier 'as Anthony DiBartolomeo'. Each credit is shown as 'Anthony Jon'. Why is it that the alternate name would still remain even after the 'as credited' qualifiers were removed? The IMDb policy states, "please note that these attributes should reflect how a person is credited on screen." It is evident that I have never been credited as 'Anthony DiBartolomeo' on any film that I have worked on. As an actor, my agent in New England has recommended that I remove this as she was asked by two separate clients why this name is included on my IMDB page (for compensation and crediting purposes).
Is there any way possible that this can be resolved? If not, why would IMDb emphasize the importance of credit accuracies is it upholds 'Anthony DiBartolomeo' as an alternate name?
Thank you so much, and I hope there is some way that this can be resolved.
