Image "Edit Tags"/"Report This" infinite loop.

The star and only the star of a feature film appears in a certain image. So, I do the following:

- Select "Edit Tags" to remove the two people who do not appear in the image.

- Beside one actor's image, it says "Locked" and shows a question mark. I click on it and get the following message: "This image was provided by the IMDbPro member. They cannot be untagged. If there is an issue with this image, please select the "Report This" image option."

- Okay, I surf over to "Report This" and select "Incorrect name or title". All that does is take me back to "Edit Image Tags" and the "Locked" message. An infinite loop.

So, any number of non-appearing names can be slapped on an image just because one gave his or her credit card number? So much for accuracy.

Hello Carter,
Which image is it that you are referring to?
Please give the URL of the image

Hi, Steve. The image is at the following link. I untagged one name (three were listed), but Marco's cannot be removed. No big deal, but the message "This image was provided by the IMDbPro member. They cannot be untagged. If there is an issue with this image, please select the "Report This" image option." seems contradictory because there is a small issue but following the instructions just puts one on a merry-go-round.

Carter Hayes, consider reporting it as "inappropriate" and simply explaining that it is locked yet wrong.

Yes, as Jeorj Euler suggests, you should report it.
Click on the Report This button on that page and tell them that Marco Fuller's entry is locked but that he isn't in the image

To further clarify, you won't be redirected to the "Edit Tags" menu if you avoid the "incorrect name or title" option when selecting a "reason".

I went ahead and sent an explanation via the "inappropriate" option, as suggested.

I suspect the redirect issue described in the first post rarely happens, but it's still (in my humble opinion) a minor programming/design flaw.

The system is doing what it is supposed to, but the problem is that the design assumes that IMDbPro contributors never upload photographs that do not contain the person whose profile is being updated. This is a case whereby somebody did that. Come to think of it, we should have reported it as "not relevant", to be more precise.

Thanks for the feedback, Jeorj. We've updated the help content to recommend reporting the image as "not relevant" in these situations.

Hi Carter -

The image was uploaded as a Resume photo by an IMDbPro Subscriber, which is why you encountered the reporting issue; I have filed a ticket with our technical staff to review the looping issues you described.

In the meantime, the image you reported has now been modified and the incorrect name has now been untagged, see here.   Cheers!

Thanks very much, Michelle. Looks good. And thank you, Steve and Jeorj, for your help, as well.

Hopefully someone has posted a new topic about the miscellaneous space that's now showing up in production status parentheses. Looks like a small programming issue.

Happy Holidays!
