How do you remove an Alternative Name? I tried but it says its 'locked.'

Thanks for the help, friends.

Is it there because the name was credited on screen that way?  If so, it should not/could not be removed without changing the way the credit is listed.

For instance, Christopher Walken's are:

Alternate Names: Chris Walken | Ronnie Walken | Christopher Wlaken
And they remain because, as with the "Wlaken" one, it was an error in the on screen credits, but since he was credited that way (which is what IMDb documents).

Aside from that, that section is being changed and they are not accepting changes there at this time.

Thanks for the feedback.  When they start accepting changes again, would removing the credit that had the 'Alternative Name' remove the 'Alternative Name' as well?

Only the section that adds/updates Alliterative Names directly is not being processed. Alternative Names that are created because there is an (as ...) attribute are being processed normally.

Yes, removing all credits that have a specific (as ...) attribute will cause the AKA Name to be removed as well.

However, IMDb is unlikely to remove a credit unless you can show that no such credit was listed on screen. And attempting to remove a valid credit may well get you flagged as an untrustworthy contributor, which could make it much harder to get any future submissions approved.

Any indication when the migration of 'alternative names' function will be complete?
