Hellboy wrongly has the "found footage horror" subgenre and there's no way to remove it as it's not listed among the subgenre keywords

Hello, I've just realized that "Hellboy: The Crooked Man" has the "found footage horror" subgenre listed in error, and when I went to edit the sungenre keywords and remove it, thinking someone added it by mistake, it's nowhere to be seen among the keywords, there's no way to submit an edit to remove it. What's happening?

And by the way, I've seen other related issues, like found footage movies that have the "found footage horror" subgenre keyword added, but it's not displayed on their profile as a subgenre.

I think there's an overall general bug related to displaying subgeneres on IMDb.

Later edit: The Hellboy error was fixed. About the other issue, looks like IMDb introduced new rules, some subgeneres are only displayed if their parent genre is listed: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/interests/G4Q8HQTQJ6YZ7H7B#foundfootagehorror

Hi @AdrianTofei,

Thank you for reporting this.

I have filed a ticket (ref. #D171098918) with the relevant team to investigate this issue. I will keep this thread updated with any progress made on resolving the issue.

Cheers!

@Ozzy Thanks! And here's the opposite example of a clear found footage movie which has the "found footage horror" subgenre added, but it's not displayed. I've learned while trying to add it, and was surprised that it's already there, just doesn't show up on the title page. And there are other subgenres that don't get displayed, is that because there is a manual verification, like a double step checking by IMDb editors, first approving the edits (approving the subgenre keywords), and then a second team approves them being actually displayed on the title page? If that's the case, it's way too confusing for IMDb contributors.

@AdrianTofei

This may be be explained by the new help page, which says that the film must have both the horror genre and the found-footage-horror keyword to display "Found Footage Horror" as an 'interest' on the main page.

The Hellboy error seems to be fixed.
