Credit removal
Hello,
I have the same problem. I would like to see this page removed: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9842418/?ref_=nv_sr_1
I appear in the short movie related for a split second, for which I was never asked consent to use my image, although I am credited for it. Now this page comes up in Google when searching for my name, while I am in no way an actress nor am I a public person. I do not find a contact page on Imdb and posting this is apparently the only way to communicate, for which I had to create an account and yet give away more personal data.
Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Please remove name page.

The point is not to remove the credit in the movie since it is actually me. What I want is the page bearing my name to be removed since it sustains that I am an actress. This page should not exist since it is not the case.
When I click on Edit page, I can edit the page content, not ask for the page itself to be deleted.

Basically, it only means that the person has been credited in some film/video/tv production - either as an ”actor” or as ”him/herself”. Anyone with a name on the actual credits (captions/spoken introductions during e.g. news story, documentary or talk show also counts) can also have a IMDb name page.
I can’t really comment on what comes up with Google, since I assume that’s a bit more complicated issue (which IMDb can’t really control). But having a IMDb name page doesn’t really mean anything.
Ps. Note that Dream Weaver is not part of the IMDb staff, even when he said ”we are committed etc”. You can tell when someone from the IMDb staff replies (”Official rep”).

I understand that a lot of people have IMdb pages without being actors. And yes it doesn't mean anything. Why then make such a fuss about deleting a page that bears my name. IMdb seems to pride themselves in having accurate information. What is the point of having thousands of fictitious "actors" when the credits are already on the movie's page ?
Having it come up on Google is another subject and it does not seem to be a problem to have it removed from such web searches (dealing directly with Google on this matter).
I still stand that this page should not exist on IMdb. I respect your opinion but it is not your name up there. People are entitled to choose how they protect their personal data and whether it is displayed online or not. By typing my name, you find this page, then you find this movie, then you have my image and you can identify me. I am asking for this link to be deleted so it is not so easy to identify me. If you do not see the problem, I don't really care.

We are not talking about a little of people having a page on IMDb, we are talking about more than 5 millions. So having a page or not is meaningless if you have a single entry on it. Again because this is the way IMDb is built
Last but not least: having your name credited made it a public information, which does not belong to you anymore.
Except if you are a European citizen, where you could have law on your side, following the GDPR enforcement, even in the US. But I am not even sure that it could apply to a credit.

2) I actually never gave consent for my image to be used in this movie. Yes I am a European citizen and actually in my country, having your image photographed or shot does not equal giving consent for it to be used or published.
3) My name, my personal data, my decision.
4) I actually initially replied on a thread called « remove my name page », and someone created another thread calling it « credit removal », which I believe is misleading because being credited in the movie is a separate issue which I understand that IMDb has nothing to do with.
5) Last but not least, does anyone have insight on how to get in touch with an IMDb representative, since I am trying to have my name page removed and not so much explained why I have a name page and why you think it is meaningless

The EU regulation makes it mandatory for any entity to get prior clearance from the person being photographed (i.e. still or moving image) before exploiting it by whatever means, even in a semi private circumstance like a company, let alone for a movie.
So your first target should be the producer or the director or whatever authority who had you appearing in that short without your written consent.
Regarding your item #3, it would be critical to determine whether GDPR protection may apply to that context, i.e. being credited. I think you may have a case, but you would need professional guidance here, which I am not able to provide. I am just a little knowledgeable in that area (I am European as well).
IMDb staff has no responded yet to that new topic, so you can expect so, but I am afraid their answer is predictable. First because they will never remove information, including a name page, related to a factual credit. Second because they are not familiar at all with GDPR (even though a large part of them, if not all of them, work in the UK). And moreover because the root cause looks like an issue between you and the short producer, more than you and IMDb or Google...

Any dispute or claim relating in any way to your use of any IMDb Service, or any products or services sold or distributed by IMDb or through the IMDb Services will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to this agreement.
c. You and IMDb each agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated or representative action. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than in arbitration you and IMDb each waive any right to a jury trial. You and IMDb also both agree that you or we may bring suit in court to enjoin infringement or other misuse of intellectual property rights.a. There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and court review of an arbitration award is limited. However, an arbitrator can award on an individual basis the same damages and relief as a court (including injunctive and declaratory relief or statutory damages), and must follow the terms of these Conditions of Use as a court would.
b. To begin an arbitration proceeding, you must send a letter requesting arbitration and describing your claim to our registered agent Corporation Service Company, 300 Deschutes Way SW, Suite 304, Tumwater, WA 98051. The arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules, including the AAA’s Supplementary Procedures for Consumer-Related Disputes. The AAA’s rules are available at www.adr.org or by calling 1-800-778-7879. Payment of all filing, administration and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA’s rules. We will reimburse those fees for claims totaling less than $10,000 unless the arbitrator determines the claims are frivolous. Likewise, IMDb will not seek attorneys’ fees and costs in arbitration unless the arbitrator determines the claims are frivolous. You may choose to have the arbitration conducted by telephone, based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live or at another mutually agreed location.
