Contribution (Actor Deletion) Declined
Hello,
I submitted a correction of an actor's credits - the actor's currently credited for every single episode of a TV series, but he didn't appear in some of the episodes at all, not even for 1 second. There are similar issues with about half of the actor's credits. I thought I'd start with the most recent series. I provided the following comment/explanation: "The actor only appears in 11 episodes (out of 14) of the series. He's not in episode 6, 9, and 12."
The contribution was declined, the reason being "Unable to verify". That is not true. "Unwilling to verify" seems more fitting. The TV series is even available on (Amazon) Prime Video, IMDb's a subsidiary of the same company, this is ridiculous. Contributors are, however, unable to provide a definitive evidence of someone not appearing on screen at all. I could easily prove the opposite - that an actor did appear in something - with a screenshot that shows the actor in that film/series/episode. But what are we supposed to do in the case of "the actor's just simply not in that" corrections? Reminds me of the good old "provide proof of not receiving the package" and customers sending photos of their empty hands.
Hypothetically, if I uploaded 1 frame/screenshot per second, so 12 THOUSAND frames in total (episode 6 - 64 minutes, episode 9 - 63 minutes, episode 12 - 73 minutes), it would only prove the actor didn't appear for longer than a second at a time. Shorter shots with the actor in them, for example because of quick cuts, could still be missed.
So, how should I proceed? I am willing to upload those 12,000 frames (let's say to Google Drive) and provide a link. But I highly doubt someone's going to go through them. I'm guessing "just taking my word for it" isn't an option, even though I watched the series twice and have no reason to lie about someone being in "these 11 episodes" but not in "these 3". And it doesn't seem anyone's willing to check - play the episodes or at least fast forward through them. Is IMDb OK with actors being credited for films/series/episodes they don't appear in? I'm not. I wanted to help with corrections. Yet, apparently, deletions of false credits will always be declined and there's nothing contributors can do about it.
(Mentioning the contribution ID doesn't seem relevant since this is a general issue with all corrections/deletions of "nonappearances" that are impossible to prove with screenshots of said nonappearance. But just as an example... #230528-134854-362000)

Hi @StopYouDogs -
I have resubmitted the deletions on the example submission on your behalf and approved, I have also reported the processing error so editors can receive appropriate coaching. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Cheers!

Who is the actor? What is the TV series? Is he credited on the show in each episode?
