Clarification on plot outline submissions
Because my last post has comments disabled
I will try again as no rep has given me an answer
Not sure if they are too lazy but I have submitted plenty of outline corrections, new outlines/summaries and have also submitted deletion of exsisting outlines
My new outline submissions have been approved but still are not showing even after a few weeks
Some have been approved and are alreadly listed under the respective title and some have been approved and are not showing? All these submissions where submitted at the same time so I dont see why this is the case
I also submitted an edit to an exsisting outline and my user name has not been credited with the update
I have submitted deletions of outlines and there are no reasons given to why they are being declined when the exsisting outlines are blatantly incorrect or poorly written. I can't find the page to give a reason to why they should be deleted so a link would be greatly appreciated
A rep needs to sort this out please
I have attached all films I have submitted with their reference numbers for clarification
Further investigation is required for approvals that are not showing
I will need a comprehensive reason and info about my submissions and if it isn't to my liking I will continue to ask until they are shown

Licence To Kill, The Living Daylights, Spectre, Terminator Dark Fate, Xmen Dark Phoenix, Ransom, Terminator (1984) and Die Hard (1988)

From the guide:
”IMPORTANT - corrections and By: lines Bylines are important to the original author and other users. If you make corrections (spelling, grammar, etc) to a Plot Summary, please DO NOT change the byline. If you disagree with the plot summary and want to substantively change it, please submit a new one with your own byline rather than edit the original and add your own name to it.”

Everything under "Approved outlines not showing:" Please note that we only accept one plot outline for a title, and discretion is exercised when determining which plot outline best fulfills our criteria. You should have received a different response, but in these cases, please know if your outline is not showing, this is why.
Same explanation for your requests to delete outlines; if the current outline fulfills our criteria, we won't be removing it to replace it with yours. If you want to modify a plot, please do that, rather than trying to delete the plot entirely.

”Provide an explanation to assist in processing this submission”
...should be ticked. I mean in many cases it could be very difficult (impossible even) for the IMDb data editors to know why the existing Plot Outline is ”wrong” and why the new one is better/more appropriate. Only way is to explain the reasons for the change.

And btw. I didn’t talk about replacing the original author (or By: lines). I’m talking about the situation where the existing Outline actually has some issues and it should be corrected/updated. They’re not written in stone and ”being first” doesn’t mean that the Plot Outline is untouchable forever. Let’s not lie or create illusions that Plot Outlines are sacred ground.
So again, just for Ed: If people really want to correct/update the Plot Outline - and yes, sometimes it actually can be recommended - prepare to explain why IMDb should approve the changes/corrections/updates. So, explain, provide proof, and: tick the box so you can do that.
And last tip that also applies to correcting/updating Outlines: if it ain’t broke, why try to fix it? That’s just common sense.
