CBS 48 Hours - There is no Season 36 yet
I've reported this before but I have not seen a response and as time goes by, it will make correcting that much harder.
There is no season 36 for CBS 48 Hours yet. We are in Season 35, which you report as 36.
How do we get this corrected? Doing a whole season edit is not possible for me.

Hi @robfwtx -
Thanks for reporting, the episodes have been correctly moved to Season 35. If you encounter this issue again, you can submit Title Corrections through our online Update form to correct the episode number. For more information I encourage you to review our Help Guide.
Cheers!

A bit late to this, but as someone who has updated a lot of the episodes for this series, old episodes to recent episodes, I can explain the source of the confusion.
I've recently added the latest (September 2024) episodes as part of Series 38. This is correct if we start with the basis that Season 1 was all the episodes from its debut in January 1988 to September 1988. Season 2 debuted in September 1988. Most online resources confirm this. This is the source of the confusion.
The only way the season starting in September 2024 is season 37, rather than season 38, is if all episodes from January 1988 to September 1989 are classed as a single season. This would be unusual.
As for CBS/48 Hours, I believe that when it came to putting their shows online in recent years, they simply thought 1988 = season 1, 1989 = season 2, etc., forgetting, or not bothering to check that season 1 started in Jan '88 and ended in Sep '88. They would probably realise this mistake if they had put the entire back catalogue online, but they have only put the episodes from its "true crime" era, rather than its earlier magazine format.
The issue has caused a lot of problems, with some episodes having the wrong dates/plot outlines, and titles. I am (slowly) correcting these. However, if you wanted to go via the CBS/48 Hours numbering, you would have to merge all the episodes from Jan '88 to Sep '89 into one series, and then move all the other episodes one series back. That's a LOT of work to correct CBS/48 Hours' error.
In the meantime, I will continue to view Season 38 as beginning in September 2024!
PS - Even more complicated is the issue of repeats of 48 Hours sometimes being "updates" with new segments, and others not.
