Been Trying to Change IMDb Credits for Almost 2 Years

For over two years, the producers and I have been trying to update my credit on the page of the film "The Clear" from "Assistant Editor" to "Editor" and have submitted changes multiple times. Nothing has been done yet even though it says the requests have gone through; its supposed to take only a couple of months from what I've read on here but not 2 years so if someone from IMDb could please update the info here then that would be most appreciated. Here is the link to the film page which has me listed mistakenly as an "Assistant Editor:"

The Clear: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1986148/?...

I also have been trying to delete the following credits for well over a year from my IMDb page including the following: "Director, Writer, Story, Actor" from Collision and "Special Thanks" from Shadowplay. Here are the links to each respective page.

Collision: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1590311/?...

Shadowplay: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1881052/?...

To be honest I want the page for Collision deleted because I never meant for that to be put on IMDb but I don't believe you can delete pages.

I hope you can help me with all of this!

Multiple Editors for a single project is relatively uncommon, and unfortunately too many people try to 'enhance' their credits rather than enter the accurate on screen data, so IMDb is unlikely to change your The Clear credit unless you include evidence that the screen credits actually list you as Editor rather than Assistant Editor.

You should get a capture of your credit in the film, upload it to the web and after you resubmit your correction, send in the evidence using the Supply links to data verification sources form.

As to the other credits: if you are listed on screen for those credits, then they will not be removed. IMDb is not (primarily) a resume service that lets you list only what you want; it is a database that lists the credits of all eligible titles.

Continued attempts to remove valid credits is likely to get you flagged as an unreliable contributor, which will make it much harder to get future corrections or additions accepted.

IMDb might remove Collision, but only if you can show that it definitely does not match the Title eligibility requirements.

You can add evidence (a screenshot of your name in the credits) in here and/or through this form:

http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_ver...

However, if the work actually exists and was clearly eligible for inclusion, it is unlikely to be deleted.

Can you paste in the reference numbers for your submissions too?

In regards to "The Clear" the original uploader accidentally listed me wrong and I can provide the attempt from the producer, Ryan, who tried to change me to editor. The film is available on IMDb on its video page but I do not have permission to view it but if someone in administration can view it, you will see my name listed as "Editor" in the film's end credits. There's nothing else I can do so I really hope this can be corrected because its not fair that someone listed me wrong and I can't do anything about it.

Here are the reference numbers in regards to "The Clear:"

Done by one of the film's producers: receipt #130626-023700-085000

And this was when he went to delete my old credit with explanation: receipt #130626-023538-212000

In regards to Collision:

receipt #130610-161127-282000

I really hope something can be done about this because this has been getting ridiculous.

Did you tell them this when you submitted? It is best to try and reduce the amount of work (and guesswork) staff need to do, as it increases the chance of this going through easily (hence why the best way is to send the the screenshot, it should be almost guaranteed that way). Might work the way you've done it, but it might not. Can you get the screenshot from someone else?

To be honest I thought it was assumed that IMDb checks the videos uploaded when you submit a change to verify the correction being submitted but I guess that's not how its usually done (guess that's what happens when you assume) so I never mentioned that. I can try but its going to be very difficult. If this doesn't work I'll see what I can do but I REALLY hope that this is enough; its been bugging me for the last 2 years as crazy as that sounds.

The last statistic I got (a couple of years ago) stated that IMDb was processing in the area of 400,000 data lines per week, and that this meant that the Data Processors need to average better than 30 seconds per item in order not to get into backlog.

They don't have time to do long searches, so you need to make it as easy (and fast) as possible for them to verify your submission.

Well I don't know how it is done, but I'd assume nothing - send them everything you have.

That's all I have and I pray that the fact that the producer who I believe put up the film, requested it be changed be enough. Wish I had more info but I have to work with what I can get unfortunately.

Here is a screencap from the producer from the film The Clear. There's nothing else I can do to further show proof that I was an editor on the project and I hope the change is made at IMDb's earliest convenience. Two years is long enough.

That should do it. Thanks for digging it up.

You're welcome. It took awhile to get ahold of but if it does the trick, then it was worth it!

We'll need to wait for staff to pitch in (or have you also sent it in using the data verification link I provided earlier?), but that is exactly what they will be looking for.

Would you believe I'm still waiting for the credit change?  I sent them a message using the link you provided about a week after you made the above post but no one from the site has made a word that they're going to do anything to fix it.  I'm practically at my wits end now!

Sorry to hear about this - there is nothing further I can do to move this forward and you've provided all the relevant information but I don't think anyone would complain if you bumped this again once a week until it gets sorted (and if they do they can blame me, as I've just told you to do it). I'd recommend doing this on Mondays, as staff are thin on the ground on weekends (and, they are scarce over this holiday period) so doing that at the start of the week will maximise your chance of getting this seen and actioned.

I'm bumping this again because it has been 2 months since I've provided all the proof I needed that I was given the incorrect credit so I hope someone from IMDb sees this and makes the changes swiftly!  I'd really appreciate especially since I've been waiting for over 2 and half years now.
