The IMDb records everything possible about every eligible film or TV show and all of the people involved in it. They will never remove pages about eligible productions or people. If there's anything that can be proven to be wrong then they give you the facilities to submit a change (which should include proof as to why it's incorrect)
What is it that you're actually objecting to?

This was a favor that my kids did for a school mate's mother who was shooting an educational short. They did not get paid, have a speaking role, and it did not get distributed. Unbelievable.

But were they credited? If they were then their names were publicly advertised.Even if it didn't get a commercial distribution, it was presumably shown somewhere or it wouldn't be eligible for inclusion in the IMDb.
Actually, that might be your best route into this. Rather than just threatening the IMDb with lawyers (which they always laugh off), if you can show that it was never shown publicly anywhere then you can just get the title removed which will also remove the listings for the kids
