Anybody notice the new "track contribution" screen now shows all contributions in that entry

It used to be when you entered something, like trivia, that was eligible for "track contribution" beta program, that the tracking was only for items that were eligible. It now has all items within the contribution whether they would be individually eligible or not. Check it out.

Pretty cool to see what has been processed and what is still processing. This is a great improvement IMDb. I only hope this roles out soon for all contributions.

Hi everyone,

This new history experience now displays tracking information for title corrections and merges.

Thank you for your support as we continue to iterate on this feature.

Cheers,
Megan

This seems to have a bug. I corrected a television episode title and in the update history, instead of appearing under "Title Corrections" it appears under "Alternate Titles". No, it isn't an alternate title. The originally entered title was incorrect.

Thanks for the added feature. All Title Correction submissions for me continue to show "pending" on my History page, days after the changes have been accepted and live on the main site.

Hi Ron and Adrian,

Thank you for reporting these issues.

The team has temporarily stopped displaying tracking information for title corrections and merges while we work on fixing the problem.

We will update here when we have a solution in place.

Cheers,
Megan

I see that name merges and corrections are now being tracked on the beta page... although merges are under the slightly odd heading "Name Preferred Const Addition". I know what it means because I know what I just submitted, but perhaps it could be rephrased for display?

I'm running out of reasons to ever check the old history page again!

The old history page shows saved contributions and has links to reload them as well as having links to reload old submissions. It also shows how many items were submitted in each section in the order in which they appear in the contribution page. I find that useful when submitting credits for episodes of a series where I have submitted similar credits for other episodes.

The heading for name merges does need improvement. It should reflect how contributors see the process not how staff may refer to the mechanism that implements it.

Thanks Owen. I had a funny feeling I was forgetting something - not sure how I managed to overlook saved submissions when I've been using them this week. Hopefully that functionality can be added to the beta page at some point.

I'm also hoping that the department order on the beta page is considered a bug and will be corrected - mirroring the form order would be far more useful than the current jumble.

And, of course, there are still some other issues raised here that need to be addressed too, but it's definitely getting there. Does anyone know if the plan is for the old history page to eventually be removed completely, or will the old and new co-exist even when the beta page is 'finished'?

Another thing I just noticed about the new history page. The endless scrolling does not always end up at the same place. Just now it went back as far as my contribution 141022-151349-542000 but only a few minutes earlier it was not even going back as far as the beginning of this year.

It looks as if it will not try to fetch more data again if it tries but does not get any more. After reloading the page it may go back further.

This is one reason why I am not a great fan of the endless scroll approach to handling large volumes of data. The old history tells you how many items there are and you can go through page by page - also not ideal but at least you know how much there is and how many times you have to select 'next'.

Hi everyone,

We've added tracking information for name splits yesterday. Any name splits should now appear in the new history page as the list of credits that was moved from one person to another.
Thank you for your support and your feedback.

Cheers,
Elise

Anyone else have cast additions that went live, but still show as "Pending" after many days?

#200601-204730-695000 - 19 cast additions, all live, but still showing 6 pending
#200601-194728-086000 - 17 cast additions, all live, but still showing 14 pending

Hi Ron,

Those additions should have updated by now. I'll ask the team to investigate.

Thanks for reporting the issue, and I apologize for any inconvenience it has caused.

Cheers,
Megan

Yeah, it's still happening for me occasionally but I forgot about this thread to record the example, sorry.  It held up me submitting images, knowing I couldn't tag them, but when I realised a couple of days later they'd been processed I just went ahead and uploaded them.  I should have recorded the submission numbers.

Hi Ron,

Thank you for all the examples.

The tech team believes they have fixed the issue and that you should not see this problem with any new submissions. Please let me know if you do run into other cases of this happening.

I apologize again for any inconvenience caused by this issue, and thank you again for bringing it to our attention.

Cheers,
Megan

After recommendation by Phil G, (thank you) I copy here an idea/suggestion of mine for improvement: It would be good if a feature of sorting the declined contributions could be incorporated somehow in the IMDb contribution page (beta). It would be very helpful for regular contributors to be able to easily track their rejected contributions, see what went wrong, see which ones could be resubmitted or not. Because currently is not so easy to track them among thousands of approved contributions. Thank you.
